Professionals trained outside Kenya
Professional trained outside Kenya who may wish to be registered by the Council shall be required to show proof of qualifications /competency equivalent to standards established in Kenya. Candidates will be required to make application by filling the prescribed application forms (Physiotherapists Trained outside Kenya Application Form) and submit them to the Council.
The application form shall be accompanied by
- Proof that the person is qualified to engage in the practice of physiotherapy;
- Proof that the person has undergone a course or training in the practice of physiotherapy from an institution that is recognized by the Council;
- Proof that the person has been authorized by an institution recognized by the Council to engage in the practice of physiotherapy in his or her country of origin; and
- Any other proof that the Council may require, including the findings of any inquiry that the Council may make into the suitability of the person to engage in the practice of physiotherapy in Kenya
- Applicants shall be required to provide an official translation of all documents that are not written in the English language.
If the Council is satisfied, candidates will be required to undertake a written and practical examination. Based on the results, the candidates will be invited by the registration and licensing committee for an oral interview .They may be required to proceed to a practicum placement for a period to be determined to acquit him/her with Kenyan health care systems.
Applicants will be issued with registration certificates and practice licenses upon successful completion
